PROGRAM ARCHIVE NAME: pcr32_35.zip PROGRAM TITLE: pc/Recall PROGRAM VERSION: 3.5 PROGRAM BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Session-capture, screen-capture, auto-launch, paint and more PROGRAM SHORT DESCRIPTION (10 lines): pc/Recall 3.5 Screen capture, paint, screen print, delayed launch, session capture, and more! Take a snapshot of the apps currently being used, and let pc/Recall automatically start them the next time you start your system. Allows capture of all or a selected part of your screen with the Print Screen key: save as file, edit or print. Features: delayed launch for single/groups of apps, run apps prior to shutdown, etc. Win95/98/NT4 PROGRAM LONG DESCRIPTION: pc/Recall is a powerful utility which sits either in your Windows tray, or in a tiny rollup window which you can locate to any unused portion of your screen. With pc/Recall, you can take a "snapshot" of the programs which you have open. The "snapshot" may be stored as a bookmark for recall later, or may be set to automatically launch next time you start up your system. pc/Recall also allows you to set applications to run automatically at preset days and times, even if you are away from your computer. And pc/Recall is perfect for those computer tasks which require you to open several applications (e.g., to write letters to people who owe you money, you might need your accounting package, your calculator applet and your word processor). Instead of clicking on several icons or searching through lists of files, you can simply click on a single pc/Recall bookmark and load all your applications at once. You can also custom-configure the command lines of applications (e.g., to launch a word processor or other program with a specific file preloaded) and store them, along with your "snapshots" in named volumes of "bookmarks." You can switch between bookmarks or volumes with a click of the mouse. Plus, pc/Recall can be used to quickly send the contents of your screen (or the active window) to your printer just by pressing the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard. Your system's screen (or a selected portion) can also be saved to an image file on your disk -- great for grabbing images off the internet! And pc/Recall contains its own fully functional paint program to allow you to create and edit both screen captures and other images. A clipboard utility is also available to store frequently used information (passwords, telephone numbers, etc.) for quickly pasting into other programs. Once you've used pc/Recall, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it! - If you've ever wanted to start up your system with the same programs running as when you last used it; - If you ever wanted to launch an application at a preset time while you were away from your system; - If you've ever needed to print a copy of what is on your screen; - If you need to save a picture from your screen as an image file; - If you've ever wanted to run a set of programs each time you shut down your Windows sessions; - If you ever just wanted to launch several applications with a single click; - or even if you just wanted an inexpensive but powerful alternative to "Windows Paint" ... then you need pc/Recall! In most cases you cannot simply copy the software onto your hard drive. The files on the CursorArts distribution disks are stored in a special compressed form to save space. The Setup program is the only way to insure that pc/Recall is properly unpacked and installed. To install pc/Recall, follow the steps below: 1. Start Windows. 2. If you received pc/Recall on diskette, place it into the floppy drive now. If you downloaded pc/Recall in archived format, use FileWrangler, PKUNZIP or another utility to uncompress the files to a working directory on your hard disk. 3. Activate your file manager or select "Run..." from the "Start" menu. 4. In the "Command Line" field enter one of the following: - If you placed the pc/Recall diskette into drive A:, type: A:\SETUP - If you placed the pc/Recall diskette into drive B:, type: B:\SETUP - If you downloaded pc/Recall, type: C:\DIRNAME\SETUP (Remember to replace DIRNAME with the name of the directory where you uncompressed pc/Recall.) 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. ---------------------------------------- UNINSTALLING / REMOVING FROM YOUR SYSTEM ---------------------------------------- If you decide that you no longer wish to use pc/Recall, or if you decide not to use pc/Recall beyond the 30-day evaluation period, you need only use the "Add/Remove Programs" feature in the Windows "Control Panel" folder. To remove any shortcuts to pc/Recall which you may have created on your Windows desktop, simply delete these by highlighting the link icon and pressing your Delete key. To remove shortcuts on the Windows Start menu, use your file manager to delete the PCRECALL directory folder which is located inside the \WINDOWS\START MENU\PROGRAMS folder. ------------------------------------- CUSTOMER SERVICES & TECHNICAL SUPPORT ------------------------------------- CursorArts Company provides its registered software customers with free technical support.
